3ADVANCE was founded by Paul Murphy in June 2010, with the goal of delivering database driven state-of-the-art websites and mobile apps.

Paul Murphy, Founder & Lead Developer

Paul is a seasoned software/database developer with an eye for clean and crisp UI. He has over 12 years of development, strategy and management experience in everything from front-end interactive websites to heavy database design and optimization.

Graduating from Queen's University, Belfast (Northern Ireland) in 2004, Paul received a First Class Honors, with a Masters in Electrical & Electronic Engineering. He was also awarded the BIC Systems Prize for Best Project in the Field of Computer Engineering. His paper, on electronic design schemetics with SVG, was published and presented at the SVG Open Conference 2004 in Tokyo, Japan.

Shortly after arriving in the DC area, Paul took the job of lone web developer at a local website firm. His position evolved to Director of Technology where he spent five years building up a strong and cohesive team of software developers, leading a strategy shift from web design to custom ecommerce sites and cloud-based data applications.

As smart phones burst on the scene, Paul realized it was time to roll. Paul's first iPhone app, for Ben's Chili Bowl won 1st in the Apps4Bens contest as part of DC Week 2010... 3ADVANCE was born, with a major focus on mobile and tablet apps, and a client list that now includes NPR, The New Republic and The Mortgage Bankers Association.
